How it works
Intumescent fireproofing contains thermodynamic compounds which will expand into a solid when subjected to fire, creating a protective barrier around steel beams and other structural elements. This increases the structure’s fire resistance rating from 1-4 hours depending on the design of the building.

Expands when exposed to heat reduces the conduction from the fire to the substrate, delaying the time it takes to reach structural failure.
